Your business may be doing well, but does it still thrill you? You're working on a project when it occurs to you: "Why am I doing this?" "What else should I be doing instead?"
Many individuals do, in fact, lose interest in their jobs. It will be challenging for you as an entrepreneur to put your heart and soul into your company if you don't love what you do.
Entrepreneurs are burdened with managing many areas of their organization and do not have the luxury of a typical 9-to-5 schedule. They run their own business at times, so work sometimes follows them home.
So how do you know when you are losing your passion? Here are a few common signs:
Your business is not the first thing you talk about.
When you run into an old friend on the street and they ask you, "So what's new?" what do you say first? It's not usually about your business. If you talk about anything else but your business, you're probably not all that enthusiastic about it. Ask yourself honestly if you're content with your current situation. It could be time to make a change.
You only long for the day you can cash out.
Building a company that is worth a million dollars is a fantastic concept. However, if all you consider is the "exit," you'll run into difficulty. The key to becoming a successful entrepreneur is creating a company that you can devote a lot of time to. If your only goal is to cross the finish line, you are probably not having fun.
Your gut tells you things.
Your gut will often tell you how you really feel. It's time to reevaluate your concentration if you consistently experience the strange impression that you don't fit in.
You don't get angry.
To be a successful entrepreneur, you must have self-control. That said, being upset when something doesn't live up to your standards demonstrates how much you like what you do. If you don't feel anything, you don't give a damn about what you're doing.
You can't wait for weekends.
Passionate people only eagerly anticipate seeing the results of their labor. Your passion for your company, though, is called into doubt if all of your energy is directed into planning your next trip or having a wild night out.
You have a Plan B.
Any of this sound familiar to you? If so, it's time to switch things up and pique your attention once more.
